The implementation of this project achieves the following: 1.We have integrated and analyzed the relevant policies, regulations, current situation and structure of implementation about SMM in six countries, including Finland, Switzerland, Netherlands, America, Japan and South Korea. At the same time, we also suggest the future direction of implementation of SMM in Taiwan. 2.We have completed 512 effective questionnaires in Taiwan, including 59 from government organizations, 71 from academic research institutions and 382 from private enterprises. We have analyzed the questionnaires and acquired the current situation of implementation along with the future direction. The study will feed as a reference for OECD in the coming forum, OECD Global Forum on Environment focusing on SMM in 2010. 3.We have selected two similar countries, Japan and Netherlands, for study and analysis of their development backgrounds, relevant laws and decrees, current situation of implementation about SMM. Furthermore, we have compared the study with ours in Taiwan. 4.We have analyzed the possible direction for SMM in 4 domestic companies, including UMC, TSMC, CSC and CPC. At the same time, we have compared the study with the industrial cases in OECD (Philips, Unilever, Nissan and El Al Israel Airlines Ltd etc). 5.We have collected and translated 100 relevant reports about SMM, including 19 pieces of international news, 5 briefing reports, 64 research and 12 these. 6.We have completed the follow-up about Taiwan’s application for observer status in OECD.
